I am trying to switch to my old screen lock pin but I'm getting the error "Can't use recent PIN". Can I override this?

Hi kenzojrc,

You can try setting a new PIN, then changing it again to the PIN you actually want to get around this restriction. :)

Hi, I tried that but it seems to remember all past PINs (at least past 2 pins).

Hi,

I've got the same issue. I had to change my pincode because I was tired of having to press "ok" after I'd give in my code, and unfortunately the only way to change this feature was to check/uncheck the box for that option; which is only available when you set a new code...

After doing this I wanted to go back to my previous code, but I'm having the same issues as the people who wrote about this earlier. I've now changed my code serval times and it's been a week ago, but I still can't change it to my oldest code.

How many times do you have to change it, or how long do you have to wait, to be able to go back to the old one?

It seems to be 4 recent PINs, at least it was on my Samsung Galaxy S10. Might be different on other phone models.

Unfortunately could not find an option to remove this, despite the error saying that device administrator does not allow using recent PIN and I am my own devices administrator...

S24 at least remebers 4 most recent pins so after that old pins can be reused

I got the exact same problem with my phone and i can't change to old password at all, i have more than 10 old password and i still can reuse the one i want. This is really annoying.

Having same issue with galaxy S23u. I've reset the pin at least 6 times and I am still unable to use the pin I want! Does it have to do with work profile I wonder? Surely Samsung has pin history requirements they can share. I'd hate to have to reset my phone just because I want to use an old pin.

I have same issue and it seems nobody found a solution.

This is just one more topic on Samsung Forum where users ask/request things and Samsung does not pay attention. They even cannot afford a team to manage the forum and answers the main questions...

Any update on this? I tried to change like 10 times and I still can't reuse an old pin.
