After updating the software (October 2024), my phone is suddenly overheating and the battery drains even with little to no use...just leaving it on my table. There's no running apps in the background and I kept on optimizing my phone. I also kept on checking the battery diagnostics if it's a battery problem.
At this rate, the battery will have an issue.

Any advice? I only bought this phone last April.

Update: today (10/24/24) , it seems that it is not overheating anymore (thankfully, hope it wont heat up again).... but still the battery drains so fast despite light usage using google browser only.

There are no other apps running and I kept optimizing my phone. Even while leaving the phone idle, the percentage drains fast in just a mere hour.

If after having to run diagnostics and it is still showing signs of excessive battery drain and heating, best to schedule an appointment with the nearest authorized service center especially since as you've mentioned you've just recently purchased it.

Even if let's say your a techie, it is a lot better to utilize the warranty that comes with the device to have it looked at by professionals.

The option is also within the Samsung Members app.

Thank you for your advice! I am currently monitoring its condition since I cant have it checked yet in the center due to the typhoon and I still have a flu.

Currently, thankfully it seems to not be "heating up"... but there is still the other issue, the battery drains quickly despite light use for google browsing only or leaving the phone idle.

All I can think of / trace how this started, is the October software update I did yesterday.
