Can someone tell me why the beta is only available in select countries? Coming from iOS, I'm not used to this.

Updates are usually released per region after some extensive localization work by our programmers, to make sure you get the top-tier Galaxy experience when you install your update.

The wait is less excruciating too in comparison to iOS. ;)

One UI Betas usually only take a month at best, one and a half at worst. It's mostly just done to fix unnoticed bugs and polish things further for release.

Your device would be getting a stable version in no time!
