S23 Plus overheating while gaming

My phone is set to dark mode with 5% to minimal brightness, refresh rate is set to adaptive, dolby atmos for gaming is turned off, and WiFi is turned on. So I was playing sims on my phone last night and after almost 10 minutes my phone is overheating so I stopped playing. Earlier in day it happened again when I was playing so I stopped and let the phone cool down and later I played again and the same thing happened. It was the only time I played the game after installing the first software update. Prior to the February software update, playing sims didn't overheat my phone. I have received the second patch update but haven't installed it yet. Does anyone have the same experience with gaming and what should I do to stop my phone from overheating? I know it should not happen because I have another 4 year old mid range android phone and I could play sims with it for 5 hours and the phone doesn't overheat. The weather outside is at 30°c btw, if that has something to do with it too.

You're phone is new and probably adjusting on your usage. Also you can't compare a midrange to a flagship as it has a more powerful processor which means it uses more power. You can also factor in the environmental temperature. 😊

I suggest you play with it in a cooler or near a fan or ac. That's what I do when I use my Fold 4 when gaming. 😄

I'm using a mobile phone cooler and it's quite effective. My phone is not S23 though.

As you may be already aware, the environment is one factor affecting battery life, and continued use when the weather outside is at 30 degrees may contribute to overheating your device. So for an uninterrupted gaming experience, you may consider using it in a cooler environment.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Restart your device.

In order to optimize your device's usage time you may do the following:

Step 1. Go to 'Battery and device care' in Settings.

Hi,

I have just purchased the Samsung Galaxy S23. Previously has the Samsung A31. I am an avid gamer on my phone especially playing Football Manager. I have FM 24 and have been playing on my old A31 which is over 3 years old and new S23 and the S23 is forever heating up and killing the battery every single time I play the game. I have only just got the phone so it is the latest software in the phone. Why is such a new phone not capable of handling such a game when my 3 years old model can deal with it no hassle and not a single bit of overheating.

Whats your suggestions for this?
