Dual sim issues Fold 4 - data switching and messaging

Hi there

The dual sim auto data switching and sim card select when messaging arenot giving me options to enable both. I can only choose either one sim at a time. I cannot make call choosing either sim 1 or sim 2 nor can I choose either number when sending messages.

In the Sim Card Manager, Ican only select one card and it will ask me to turn off the other card. I just can't select for eg., call using Sim 1 and data using Sim 2.

I have one physical sim and one esim, and each sim is on different network.

Previously, I have two sims on the same network, but same issues also.

That means Fold4 is not supporting dual sim?? I can't turn on both of the sim at all.. what happened?

As a side note, on S22 Ultra and other dual sim samsung phones, I can run two sims easily such as choosing which data and calls etc.

Hmm... Interesting problem to know... I am running on 2 physical SIMs and possible to use data and call from different SIM.

Not sure whether Samsung Service staff can give advice...

I hope Samsung can reply this issue. If not, it's a big flaw.

No problem with other Samsung as according to your screenshot. That's what I expected to see actually but it is not supporting this function. Very frustrating especially when you can only receive SMS from just one sim and not the other because you need to turn off the second one.

Oh wait! I know what's your problem. Can u put ur physical SIM to SIM1? Cos Esim uses SIM2 imei number for logging onto network...

Hope it solve ur issue...

Btw, I m using Fold 4 too...

Oh man.. you just made my day.

I'm a loyal Samsung user since iPhone 6+ (iOS good too), and this just extended my loyalty to use Samsung Android. Best out there. Dual sim is perfect if can run concurrently.

Each phone only has 2 IMEI numbers for dual SIM device... I remember esim can only use IMEI number of 2nd SIM slot, hence the SIM2 slot should be kept empty if using esim. 😁

Yah...Either 2 physical sim active or 1 physical + eSIM active.
