Amber alerts disabled but still works

I have disabled amber alerts on my new phone and it still recieves alerts. I am with CHATR.

Why is this occurring?

because it's legally mandated by the government to be functional. deal with it, there's more to come

Sure the Alert System could use some tweaking & refinements to help narrow the search & reduce false information... but if it's your kid or loved one who is potentially in danger..... "whatever it takes" 👍🐧

There is an option to turn alerts off.

mines been disabled since the mandate, but they still come in

why is it occurring.. there is a child and in this case two children that were abducted. I was happy to see mine working. amd thank god they were found safe

they said once you acknowledge the first Amber Alert you won't get a reoccurring alert.
