Just found out the Tropical Hut Foodmart in our area is finally closing this Saturday. 😮
Almost fifteen people would lose their source of income. Just a month before the Christmas. 😔
For more than three decades they thrived by being the only source of grocery for the community. With growing competition and the onset of online grocery they slowly dwindled in size.
Sadly they never updated much of the store and always lagged in restocking their supplies. Which only worsen in the pandemic. 🙃
The pandemic really shows weaknesses and is our golden opportunity to address it. The key is GROWTH, as we never know what will happen next. Learn new skills, diversify, never depend on a single income.
Good news though is a new grocery (Puregold) would just replace them. 😊
