FM radio on flagships

I know that FM chips are in build on Snapdragon 835 and many other chipsets (or i could be wrong, read it somewhere) but are disabled (monopoly) so users can consume more data via streaming.

My argument here is on a humanitarian level. FM radios are great when it comes to offline music, news, etc. But in an event of a calamity or natural disaster, etc. when your internet fails, you'll at least have access to local radio stations, which is great and can save lives.

There are many petitions online that supports enabling FM chips by default, and that it should be mandatory to do so under the federal government's law.

I will include the links to the petitions in a later updates.

Let me know what you guys think on that, and whether Samsung/Carriers should enable the FM RADIO chips by default.

Its already done. We are waiting on next major update for s8 and s8+. Note8 already has unlocked chip now.

On my note 8 I'm using this app to get the radio on it, no native radio player but it work with it!
