A couple of things I can think of is: is the camera lens covered in dirt or finger prints, is there proper lighting on the object that is getting the picture? Also try adjusting the settings to either daytime or nighttime on the phone to get the better resolution.

I have a screen protector on the camera lens, would that cause it??

That may just be the culprit. I would recommend removing the screen protector from the camera lens and then your pictures should be "picture perfect".

It looks like you're getting a bit of fog or condensation in there for sure.
