I'm having a terrible time with a samsung galaxy s10 I bought in mid december.

The phone is claiming I'm using a tremendous amount of data, but when I go to the usage tracking, it's not showing where it's coming from. On my last billing cycle, it showed 6gigs of data (which is all I have from bell). But if you go to the app tracking and total how much I actually used, it's under 800mb. The annoying part is my carrier is actually reporting the 6gigs as well. I had an s8 before this, and I've never used more than 1gig in my life. If I browse on amazon for 15 minutes, it will use approximately 100mb of data. It's at the point where I cant use the phone outside of my home. I've read on android forums of people with Samsung's having this problem on the newest android update.

I've called samsung twice. They first had me reset my settings, and then my network settings. This did not help.

They then had me put my phone in safe mode for 24 hours (they actually took control of my phone to see the data usage and how it's not being tracked accurately, and they were shocked).

Being in safe mode did not help, meaning it cant be a third party app.

I'm at the point where I wish I didnt even upgrade or buy the phone, since I cant even use it. I'd greatly appreciate any help. Please!

I am having the same issue with my S10e.   My carrier says 900mb in one week, Android data usage says 900mb for the week also, but.... the 3rd party data manager I have counts 415mb for the week and if I add up all the apps in the phone's mobile data usage from Android's --> settings --->  data usage list... it adds up to 415mb not the total of 900mb total that's showing at the top.  What hidden app(s) are using this data??  When I look at the individual days on my cell carrier's web site it shows almost double for each individual day than what my data managers and Android list are showing, but the android total data in settings is showing what my carrier is showing 900mb.   I'll be paying for extra data in no time at this rate.

EDIT: I just read the previous replies... I really hope Samsung fixes this issue or I won't be able to use the phone much.   I don't think I can do the instructions that were given

Another S10e user, with Bell in Canada. I monitor my data daily, Bell and Samsung record the same (high) value, third party app and Samsung's on-board app usage list show similar, lower numbers. Hoping either March update or UI 2.1 will solve the problem.

Has anyone tried disabling the secure folder? I have irregular/unrecorded data usage too... I checked my memory usage on secure folder(which has copies of most apps) and found it was using a ton of memory but virtually no data usage... because its private? So private that it doesn't record/display it's own data use? I'm not sure if this is it, but it's easier than rolling back to 9. I will try for a few days

Well, I can say that it's probably not the secure folder lol. I seemed to use a bit less data but the individual apps were still way below the total.

I did notice that, while I HAD uploaded a few videos, there was no record of the data used (350mb each)

Can anyone confirm that rolling back to older firmware fixes the data usage issue? My husband's S10 phone is doing the same thing with Telus Canada. It's using up crazy amounts of data. Would like to attempt @CHMultimedia's fix. @Kevintuna?
Looks like 2.1 update might fix this issue?

Does anyone know if this has been fixed with the One UI 2.1 update?
