You can actually uninstall it. Just make sure you also disable App Preview Message on settings so it won't appear again.

We can only uninstall the updates though which is sad because it consumes a lot of space in the memory without even using it because I have Messenger app that can do the task for me.

It would be unsecure to uninstall updates so I just leave it updated. This is why OEMs should make all apps to be uninstallable. Except for those essential apps like Phone, File Manager and the like
