I am a Samsung Galaxy S6 owner. I recently opened an IM from a friend who, as it turns out, was hacked. Since then, I receive numerous erroneous message notifications. AV programs all come up empty. No viruses found. Has anybody ever heard of such a thing, and how can I stop it?

Usually you can just Block the sender - but have a look here:
