how and why do I have Mandarin as a language option for my keyboard?

Hello, now today Mandarin or Chinese was my keyboard of choice for my phone??
I never set that as a choice nor do I even understand it. it says it's a preloaded language and it requires updating
Why is it there and how do I remove it??

Go to Settings - Language & Input and verify the Language(s) selected.

Well..... Did you go to - Settings - Language & Input?
Delete the Language you don't want - MAKE SURE that you have the Language you DO WANT Installed on your device. It's pretty self explanatory..

As to why you have Chinese language (Mandarin IS a Chinese language) No idea - If you installed some Chinese app from the store or elsewhere that may have installed it with or without your knowledge, assuming that you didn't install it or choose Chinese when you setup your device??

go to any app that uses keyboard and chose the gear icon, then language and types, then manage input languages.

if you try to remove it it says pre-loaded

Yeah I see English US & Française Canada - I don't see Mandarin...

That's preloaded with the Samsung keyboard. They cannot be deleted. You can disable them, but cannot delete them.

If you select manage input languages you'll see them. And they're probably disabled in yours.

Hey @CDM, you can delete the languages by Disabling the selected language > Tapping on three dots > Deleting the selected languages. Thanks!
