Needs to use stock launcher. I cannot use it with Nova Launcher.

As @makeanimationssmooth mentioned clear cache partition first through recovery. Refer to this link of you don't know how:

If that still doesn't work, suggest you do backup (important) and factory reset. WARNING: this will wipe everything off the device and start fresh. Last resort to solving issues.

And... if you get to the factory reset, use smartswitch 1st to backup anything you would like to save 🤷

let's end this , I wiped the cache but it's not supported by NOVA launcher.
implying Samsung launcher made it work

My mistake. I thought it worked with Nova Launcher as I didn't have it set as default Launcher when I first tested the side gestures immediately after getting Android 10. @Vanze and you are correct about stock Launcher.

I only tried it once to test and immediately went back to One Hand Operation+. Never used the bottom navigation since ... until now. lol
