Hi I'm new this Samsung Galaxy s9 and I put my sim card in and it's not registering. Mobile network says none. I can't call. It just says emergency calls only.

Welcome to Samsung Community. In your case, you may need to contact your mobile carrier to resolve your issue. Most likely hour SIM has not activate yet.

but my sim was active when it was in my s7. but it's not even showing I put one in this phone. just says emergency calls only. I took it out and put it back in. I restarted my phone too, before I took the sim card out and put it back in.

also, it's a second hand phone that's supposed to be unlocked.

Hi lyndseylee18, try to shut down your phone. Then re-insert sim. Then turn on the phone.

You can try the easy steps, like rebooting and clearing the cache. Ask your carrier for a replacement SIM card. And like Tallman says ,Most likely hour SIM has not activate yet.

Check and see if the SIM is seated properly in the tray?
