Whenever I unlock my new S7 the home screen does not display. There is just a tab that pops up and says touchwiz home has stopped working. How do I fix this?

You could try clearing the cache.
Possibly a silly question however... what about restarting the phone?
if you downloaded any launchers that could at a role in this as well

I have tried restarting the phone and clearing the cache but both have done nothing.

If you tried clearing cache already, have you tried clearing "Touchwiz Home" data? Make sure you force stop it to do so.
