I had a Samsung Galaxy Fit. Now I have a Samsung Galaxy Active 2. The Samsung Health app only allows the following choices for the source of Step Count Data:

  • All Steps (Galaxy Watch Active 2 and phone)
  • Mobile phone
  • Galaxy Fit

Why isn't Galaxy Watch Active 2 (on its own) a choice? Why is Galaxy Fit still listed? I remember this being a problem a year ago, and had abandoned Samsung then because of it, but had assumed it would have been fixed by now.

@DwayneM

Please give some clarification on the following

Is the "phone" in 1st choice and "Mobile phone" in the 2nd choice, both referring to the same device and please confirm that all three devices are connected to the same Samsung account?

Hi DwayneM, they made this change over a year now. I don't know why they cannot seperate the count from watch. My Galaxy 46mm doing the same thing too. Either the phone steps only or phone+watch steps. But my older Galaxy Fit can be seperate like your screenshot.

By the way, this is what I am doing now to get the correct count from my watch.

1. Open Samsung Health
2. Open Steps counts
3. Click on All Steps
4. Choose Mobile Phone
5. Click 3 dots on top right
6. Click Pause counting steps
7. Click Mobile phone again in the middle
8. Choose All steps again

Now, since mobile phone will stop counting the steps, it will only shows your watch steps count every time after sync with the watch.
