3 reasons why the new update is disappointing:

1. No one handed elements (meaning no large headers like we're used to in the rest of One UI).
2. Cannot open side menu by swiping, the only way to open it is to tap the icon in the top left corner.
3. STILL NO DARK MODE!!! WHY MAKE A REDESIGN BUT FORGET TO IMPLEMENT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING?!

It looks kind of ugly, the status bar and navbar turn black instead of white 😕

Major oversight of the Android system. It wouldn't be complicated to render the status and nav bar area beforr drawing the icons,m and then determine if the system must change the SysUI icons to black/grey/white accordingly.
