Warning to tablet users: A new tablet is coming soon to your carrier!
That's right, Samsung didn't abandon the LTE tablet segment, even though the last Canadian releases in this market are from 2016 and included the premium Tab S2 Refresh (SD652, T818W) and the cheaper Tab E 8.0 LTE (T377W).
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 2018,which was launched alongside the much more premium and thus much more expensive Tab S4, is the modernisation of the Tab A2 S, aka Tab A 10.1 2016. It still has fairly average specs which is why it didn't enjoy as much hype and coverage as the Tab S4. But now it will have an ace in it's sleeve to gain your attention. Yes, it's getting LTE. The SM-T597W is that new variant that will grant you access to our world-famous expensive mobile data networks, for a small premium.
The base model, which comes with a 16:10 FHD IPS panel, 32GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, a battery champ setup with a 14nm SD450 (it's a SD625 basically so it's really efficient) coupled with a big 7300mAh battery, all running over Android 8.1 Oreo, comes at 430CAD. The LTE model is always more expensive. How much will it be? I hope it's under 500CAD, because let's not forget the more premuim Tab S2 that is still in stores at 450/550$.
