Is there really no way to get rid of the white background on apps?

Frankly, it's ugly.

Looks like it's taking up space and it conflicts with my colour theme I want. Possibly the worst samsung update of this decade.

I don't like launchers. The style is very different and ads consume your battery.

Is there really nothing else I could do? I really hate it.

I guess you never tried Nova Launcher (Prime), i use it,  and it's great.   Certainly has very little battery consumption, and zero ads.

I tried nova launcher but I dislike the feel of it.

Not sure I understand, considering you can make it "feel" like Samsung's launcher.

There's no Ads in Nova Launcher Prime (not sure about the free version of Nova Launcher though?).

Try using a Theme if you want to get rid of the white background - Depending on what device you have - You could look at Substratum - HEX etc 🐧
