what you see is Download Mode - which usually means something's up with the software; possibly corrupted firmware (or a hardware fault)

You can try;

1. Force Restart
* Hold the Power button (top-right) for 10–15 seconds
* If it restarts, keep an eye on it to see if the reboot loop happens again

2. Try Recovery Mode
* Hold both buttons until you see the Samsung logo
* Let go of the bottom/back button, keep holding the top one
* If you get into Recovery Mode, try Wipe Cache first. If that doesn’t help, go for a Factory Reset (Caution: will wipe everything)

3. If you're stuck in Download Mode and nothing works:
* Try using Samsung Smart Switch on a PC to do a firmware repair
* Or use Odin to flash firmware manually (more risky, and only if you're comfortable with that stuff)

Best bet is have your sister take it to Samsung NZ support (and if it's also under warranty, avoid messing around with Step 3)

Thanks for that it's out of warranty. Will try those.

ok - extra below for carrying out Step 3 (if needed):

Prepare:
* PC or Mac with Samsung Smart Switch
* USB cable + cradle that supports data transfer
* Galaxy Watch 6 (leave it in Download Mode)

Steps:
1. Install Smart Switch on your PC and open it
2. Connect your watch via USB

(#1) If it’s detected
* Click “Emergency Software Recovery” or “Device Initialization”. Follow prompts - it’ll download and install the correct firmware (also wait till it finishes, avoid unplugging anything)

(#2) If It’s not detected:
* Try a different USB port or data-capable cable/dock, and if still nothing, Odin flash will be your last resort
