Am I the only one who prefers the direction Samsung was going with the horizontal camera lineup on the S10? It's makes way more sense to me. Having the layout going sideways doesnt leave any wiggling when laying flat like having a camera bump off to one side. I understand the
technology has to improve and now having thick deli sandwich type cameras sticking out like the note20 is how they can improve performance but spread them out. Is there downfalls that everyone was having to the camera being horizontal I'm unaware of? Or is Samsung trying to follow trends? Any insights, greatly appreciated

it mostly has to do with the internals. see how the front camera of the S10 series is on the side so the back can be in the center? well now it's the other way around. the front camera is in the middle so the back camera modules has to be shifted somewhere. Honestly, that's just my assumption. I watch the teardown videos from jerryrigeverything a lot cause it's interesting to see how the internal parts are.

I guess it's a win/lose situation as some people prefer having the front camera right in the middle vs. on the side. same thing with the back camera.

I guess it could also be a trend manufacturers are following. who knows lol

Hi DamonCowx

It depends on certain reasons like the arrangement of internal parts, needs and suggestions of people, and of course the design which will give a different look from others.

As phone technology advances, so does mobile camera technology. As a result, many cameras now feature multiple rear cameras — dual, triple, or quad — so you can get a pro-level photography experience with your smartphone. With the addition of another camera, you can broaden your photo-taking abilities. Now you can utilize optical zoom for a clear close-up, or switch to a wider field of vision to capture even more of the scene. Sometimes the cameras can work together to make your photos better. The recent addition of the DepthVision Camera to Galaxy phones goes beyond photography to bring in Augmented Reality capabilities as well.

At last, it depends on people a few like Horizontal(as you preferred) and few verticals.

Really happy with this response :) I understand I'm being petty in just having a preference and I know the technology has a big reason behind the layout of the new phones. my preference towards the front camera is still off to the side as straight in the middle looks unappealing. If more phones in the future had the S10 layout, they would be my go to for upgrades.
