Every where I search it says the Samsung a12 has the new UI update out. All my friends have it as well, but it will not give me an option to update it. It keeps saying 'software is up to date'. Im not sure what to do. I live in Canada, if that makes a difference.

The only possibility is ... your phone originate not from Canada. It could be international or US.

I just got my A12 update to Android 12 today (9/8/22) I also live in Canada. If you check software updates, it's there. Takes about 15 minutes from start to finish to get downloaded and installed

Hi, you will normally receive Android 12 update on September 7
you can see @Ray1's posts to know when your device (or any other device) will be updated when carriers update their schedule

I do not see the a12 on that list only the a13
