I need some advice. Since I updated my Samsung Galaxy A 52 to Android 13, I have Black Bars on the side of my screen. When I'm on my homescreen, they are not there but as soon as I open an app or other things, they suddenly appear. It makes my screen way smaller than it actually is and is just annoying and strangely bugged. Please help, because I have no Idea how to fix it.
Thanks

If you can, could you use another device to take a picture of what you see?

It sounds like you are describing a display / app setting (dpi / zoom), more than a hardware issue, as from what I understand, the display is fine, until you open an app?

I can even take Screenshots of it, if that helps. On the second one, you can also see, that the apps on the Bar below are cut of and just the Format of everything is just off. I also dont know, if the Update was the trigger but it wasnt there before, so I think it was. Screenshot_20221210_104324_Samsung Members.jpgScreenshot_20221210_104502_One UI Home.jpg

That looks like it might be either Edge Touch, or One Hand Operation from Good Lock.

Check to see if you have either of those Good Lock Modules installed & If you do, disable them, and it should be corrected.

Try this;

Open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support (bottom right), Diagnostics & View Tests, run the Diagnostics for the Display & see if you get any error messages.

Easy Mode is off, Edge panels are off and i've run the test and there are no problems regarding the display. But the weird Bars are still there...
guess we'll have to figure something else out...

You can try;

  • Booting into Safe Mode & see if they are still there?
  • You can try Booting into Recovery & Wipe Cache, but I don't think that will fix it?
  • Backup your device with Smart Switch & Factory Reset.

The last thing I can think of would be to visit a Samsung Service Centre & get your device checked out by a tech.
