Hi Cave13!

Adaptive brightness is a feature that automatically adjusts your phone's screen brightness based on the surrounding lighting conditions. Here's how it impacts battery life:

  1. Battery Efficiency: Adaptive brightness is designed to be power-efficient. By dynamically adjusting the screen brightness according to ambient light levels, it ensures that your screen isn't consuming excessive power when it's not needed.

  2. Optimal Visibility: In well-lit environments, adaptive brightness increases the screen brightness, providing optimal visibility without wasting extra energy. This is especially beneficial when you're outdoors or in brightly lit areas.

  3. Reduced Strain: In darker environments, adaptive brightness lowers the screen brightness, which not only saves battery but also reduces eye strain during low-light usage, like reading at night.

To make the most of adaptive brightness and further extend your battery life, here are a few additional tips:

  • Dark Mode: If your device offers dark mode, enable it. This can save significant battery life on devices with OLED or AMOLED screens.

  • Power  saving: Activate Power saving mode  to maximize battery efficiency.

  • Close Unused Apps: Always close apps running in the background that you're not actively using to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

By utilizing adaptive brightness and incorporating these battery-saving practices, you can make your Galaxy phone's battery last longer and have a smoother user experience.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Wishing you seamless smartphone usage and excellent battery life! 😉

For me, Adaptive Brightness consumes more battery. It continously using the Light sensor of your phone which consume unnecessary power and you need to manually adjust it as its inaccurate sometimes. Manual mode, you set the brightness manually and accurately depending on your environment.

I think the difference will be 1-4% on battery consumption when Adaptive Brightness is ON. Hope this help for you to decide which to use.
