I have the Samsung. A 54 phone and Google Maps will not open. It crashes right away anybody else. Having the same problem? I already went through device care and it tells me about maps crashing. I cleared the cache and checked for updates and there's none. I restart it the phone and they're still crashes.

Hi davidjay362,

Sorry to hear this issue from you and appreciate your efforts in performing the necessary troubleshooting steps. As you've already done some troubleshooting, but since the issue persists, here are a few additional steps to try for Google Maps crashing on your Samsung Galaxy A54:

Clear Data for Google Maps: Go to Settings > Apps > Google Maps > Storage > Tap Clear data. This will reset the app, so you'll have to set it up again, but it often resolves crashing issues. Uninstall and Reinstall it from the Play Store to ensure you have the latest version.

Try booting your device into Safe Mode:
- Boot your phone in Safe Mode to see if a third-party app is causing the issue.
- Press and hold the power button until you see Power off then press and hold Power off until you see Safe Mode.
- In Safe Mode, try opening Google Maps. If it works, the problem might be caused by another app you've installed.

Reset App Preferences: Go to Settings > Apps > tap the three dots in the upper right corner and select Reset app preferences. This won’t delete any data but will reset disabled apps, app notifications, and default apps.

Thank you.

Hey Helenna, ot doesn't allow you to uninstall, but foces and update, but will try your suggestion. I have downloaded from the Play store Google Maps Go and it seems to work ok. Good idea???

I did as you said and restarted the phone in safe mode and it's still crashes. I cleared data and the cache as well.

Delete the app and download it again to see if it works

It doesn't allow it to be uninstalled, but did an update with a restart, and now it's working.

Great it's working. You can try to do this under 'Apps' next time. It's gonna replace the app with the factory version, and most of the time it will resolve the problem.SmartSelect_20240905_131714_Settings_1000011740_1725556634.jpg
