I have a samsung a12, and its pretty steady so far. The problem came when i download high quality resolutions of videos such as 1440p, 4k etc...
The playback experience is -- extremely poor. I was expecting a good playback most of the time since its last update(os update) and come on, its 2023 already you know? Smooth video playbacks should just be a necessity at these times. But why is that i only get this notification of "Video playback may not be smooth for this codec." every time i play hd videos? 😮💨

High-Res videos requires a lot of processing power for a smooth playback and since your phone is a budget phone, its processor isn't powerful enough to process those high-res videos.

You can try to close background apps, put them to sleep/deep sleep, disable/uninstall apps you don't use to improve your playback experience.

Downloading and Streaming 4K videos on a mobile phone are waste of data and memory; 1080p would suffice.
Unless you're watching it on a 4k TV or Projector, it would be a great experience.
