There are few reasons I could think of; 1) Products nowadays are introduced without fully tested for any flaws/bugs due to competition, hence we as consumers are their life-tester. Any flaws or bugs reported will be attended to and solved in next updates. 2) There's never ending threat from viruses/ hackers causing suppliers/providers to never stop in patching the hole/ bugs to secure their products. 3) Consumers are always eagerly looking for something new/ fresh in their possession, as such, newly updated or tweaked user interface for example will keep people attached to the products.
