hye guys, any idea why my samsung s21 ultra, slows down my network speed? Its literally showing 1 to 2 bars or even E at 4g coverage. I even had changed the network provider but the results are the same. Is it because 5g phone cant support 4g sim card?

im replying based on my experience.
i have upgraded to a 5G device & constantly on 4G or 4G+ connectiions. still waiting for the moment a 5G icon displaying on my phone.
i dont think the device is constraining your connectivity or network speed. it has always been the telco/provider side.
if u are using a 5G capable device & a 4G simcard..then you should be fine.
which telco are u on now?
are u on mvno provider?
u might want to try swap in other simcard frm different telco to see if your device able to connect to 4G.
cheers.
thanks.

Thank you. Initially i had used maxis. I even changed the sim card, but still experienced the same. Now i had switched to unifi, better than maxis but still not getting full coverage. What is mvno ?

MVNO stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operators. These are third-party companies that lease telephone and data spectrum from the main operators.
here in malaysia we have mvno such as Tunetalk, XOX, etc.
Area that u are at is also a factor to get coverage. im based in Klang Valley..using maxis..once in a while gets coverage hiccups.
then the device..im on android.
somesay u get better coverage if u use apple devices.

I see. So unifi is main right. My connection bit better now but i had hiccups too once a while. Need to restart the phone. I am on android too. Probably, the areas coverage quite poor.

im unsure if unifi mobile is main or mvno..but previously known as Webe.
i have a friend who uses unifi mobile..he doesnt mind of the coverage as he is always connected to wifi at home even in his office. he does complain a lot on his mobile connectivity when he is on yhe move.
again..this is based on my experience..not saying which telco is good or bad..

I see noted. I think most telco having connection prob in main city. As long as videos dont buffer, its fine.
