Finally! After waiting for so long, Samsung Messages received its OneUI 8.5 update (Version 16.2.02.6) for Samsung Galaxy A53 running on OneUI 8.0.

Below are some screenshots of the app after installing the update:

The categories, search, more options UI were also updated.

New Conversation. This is where I noticed the first bug that I've experienced on this update. Not sure if this is because of the theme that I'm using 😅, but it seems that the text color is white on the white text box when I'm trying to type the recipient details.

The dark mode fixed this text color issue 😅 the placeholder "recipient" is also now visible.

Samsung Contacts feature in the updated Samsung Messages. The favourites feature is not the same with the updated OneUI 8.5 Samsung Phone 😅. It's still using the previous design (OneUI 8.0). Are they still planning to change this?

Aside from the text colour issue, I'm also experiencing errors when trying to register for chat services. Am I the only one experiencing this? 😅

Have you already tried the latest update for this app? What can you say about it? 😁

That's great, but for no reason, in the galaxy store, idk why it's still stuck in the One UI 6.1 version foe my S25U.1775321780678.jpg

Also regarding to the "non-functional" chat services, it's also happening on Samsung and Google Messages for my Globe (since 2024) and Smart (just recently this January) SIM. They either say "Registration failed." or "Not Supported".)1775322047705.jpg

Not only for Samsung but also to other brands using Google Message for RCS, any reason for this? Wala akong nakakalap na balita regard to this on why RCS are suddenly not supported

I use a lot of it pa naman especially when i have no sms balance

Well, the reason why it isn't work is that, Google's winding down it's "Google Guest" (or Jibe) for RCS, and is urging carriers (especially Globe, Smart, Dito, and "mnvos", under Globe and Smart) to have their own RCS servers.

Ohh i see....akala ko nung una nagloko lang kaya ilang beses ako nagtry magcheck-uncheck ng box (google message)😅

Hopefully telcos will fix and strengthen its security in the future if they plan to

Yeah, cuz u know, I always "research" (what's their current status) when things that is supposed to work all of a sudden stopped working. (Just like RCS issue in the Philippines.)

They're trying to kill Samsung Messages since OneUI 7, but it's still thriving 😂
