There should be a way to pause stepping on your wearable when you KNOW you're going to be getting tagged for extra steps (driving, typing, etc) and skew the health app!

I really want to use the information my watch is capable of giving me, but it's horribly OVERcounting my steps when I'm at work typing, on my motorcycle (bumps), or even just driving.

A simple pause function would be awesome!!!!

I did figure out that you can turn off permissions to the sensors on samsung health under settings. I think that might do it? * In the watch.

I have the same problem. By the way all this type of watches had the same problem. They just need to put a button on the screen that says. " No steps" of " stop steps"  or " I'm driving " just in driving. And that will lock the step counting or the auto detect work up. And also. Because driving is stressful and you burn some calories. They should calculate an average burning calories for any intellectual excessive. ( But that would be a luxury) I jus want my " I'm driving " button. How nobody thought about this yet ???

Google Fit on my Samsung S23U and Galaxy Watch 6 both record accurate steps whereas Samsung's own health app records steps when doing all sorts of other things - most notably when driving or motorcycling on the freeway at freeway speeds.  Surely with GPS tracking the step counter would be able to figure out that I can't possibly be walking, running, or doing any other exercise at 80MPH.  That's all that Google does, i.e. it throws away any steps it counts during those times.  Even my $45 Xaomi Band 7 recorded only real steps and was very close to Goole's count.

Come on Samsung, do better - it's not rocker science.

I have the problem too. Counted 1000 extra steps yet I was sat on a bus. Google fit is much more accurate. The only issue is I have synced google fit's data and Samsung health's data using the health connect app, and all of the time it uses Samsung's data.
