Phone shutting down after September update

Not sure if it just me but my a70 has shut down and restarted twice without notice following the September update which I installed yesterday.

Are others experiencing the same thing happening?

Hi Tao77, Did it restarted right after finishing the update? If yes, then it is common that after the update, your device will restart.

thanks Keegan, it did restart but has restarted unexpectedly a couple of times since

My suggestion would be to force power off then power it back on and see. If it continues to be a problem, call Samsung and/or do a full factory reset of the phone. Hope this helps

thanks AuxShr, sorry for asking but when you say force power off, do you mean just power off or is there a special way to do this

I love my a70 but will be trading it in for the S20 FE

Hi Tao77, I suggest you please perform wipe cache partition by following the instructions below.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
6. Press Bixby / Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.
8. When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

Possibly + a backup (with smartswitch and cloud) and factory reset 🤦
