Significantly, yes. 120Hz will use more battery than 60Hz since the phone's panel isn't dynamic.
However, I wouldn't worry about it if you're always near a place were you can charge or have a battery pack.

It does consume heaps more, but afaik Samsung phones don't have a stable 120hz mode, they're either only 60 only or dynamic that switches from 120 all the way down to 10 hz so the battery still lasts

Based on experience, no. There's no much difference in regards to the battery. There is however on the performance side. If you're fine with the mediocre experience then stick to 60Hz. Otherwise, utilize what your phone is capable of and enjoy it while it lasts.
