Samsung News (Version 7.2.51.0) is Now Working!

The default media page of Samsung Galaxy A53, aside from Google Discover, Samsung FREE is the other option. Honestly, I didn't use Samsung FREE since I much prefer Google Discover as the my phone's media page 😅.

During OneUI 7.0's development, Samsung FREE was started to be replaced by Samsung News. However, prior to the latest update, it is not advisable to update Samsung FREE to Samsung News due to the reason that it is only available internationally (as it seems).

Samsung News version 7.2.51.0 looks like working fine now, and below are some snippets of the said app:

Honestly, Samsung FREE/Samsung News is quite lacking for me 😅 Google Discover can update me with the latest news of the soecific page/topics that I like. Google Discover personalizes the topics fir me — in which on the other hand, Samsung FREE/Samsung News won't be able to provide since I didn't use it ever since resulting to not being able to capture my preferences.

i prefer to visit the website, usually i always check GSMArena or Android Authority thru Firefox

i was using Bixby Home back in 2020, then stopped using it when Bixby Home renamed to Samsung Free, now they rename this app to Samsung News, what a journey for Bixby Home

In my Galaxy Tab A9 too, there's Samsung News and Google Discover, but I prefer Google Discover since it was already the default when I set up my tablet back in the days

Another reason is...you mentioned it already, the "lacking of Samsung News" that's why Google Discover still my choice on that😉

I think Samsung News is getting better but still, Google Discover is more accurate.
