Anyone who didn't know about Stonehenge must have wondered why these stone blocks are so famous in England. Stonehenge is a prehistoric stone circle monument, a cemetery, and an archaeological site located on Salisbury Plain, approximately 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury, Wiltshire, EnglandStonehenge was built in six stages between 3000 and 1520 BCE. Stonehenge has long been the subject of historical speculation, and ideas about the meaning and significance of the structure continued to develop in the 21st century. Some archaeologists in the 18 century believed that the structure was a Druid temple. The idea has been rejected by recent scholars, however. Stonehenge is now considered to have predated by some 2,000 years the Druids recorded by Julius Caesar.

- I visited this prehistoric monument 6 years ago when I traveled to England.
