There's a hint for you.
When you are editing for mono shot....
First adjust the colours, then use the saturation to zero.
Eg If you want the reds shirt to be black, go to colour mix and adjust the reds tonal.
This colour photo was taken from the Singapore s23 trip and I only adjusted the reds and got two different mono photos.
