shutting down when using apps

Any body else having issues, started about 2 weeks ago. While using apps shuts phone down and restarts.  I've factory reset, checked battery,  tried plugged in . Cleared cache  at start up screen. Done everything that I've found on Google.  I've got rid of apps , tried new ones, still does it.  Over 12 times today. My wife's does the same thing and has same phone . Samsung j3 grande prime.   Any help will be fantastic

Hey @wretchedlife,

I'm sorry your J3 Prime is giving you so much grief—have you tried Safe Mode yet? Restarting your J3 in Safe Mode should reveal if the rebooting is caused by any third-party apps. To do this:

1. Turn the device off.
2. Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
3. When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
7. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’.

Try using your phone in Safe Mode for a day, and if it doesn't reboot then we know what the problem is. If it persists, I highly recommend you reach out to your local Samsung Service Center (https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/service-center/) so that a technician can have a look.

it's the phone that's the issue my wife's has the same phone bit different apps on it and it does it aswell. I've removed all my apps put on different ones and still does it. going on safe mode won't tell me the issue as then the apps won't work. it does it when you open an app sometimes while your using a app. it's not just one app it's all apps I have and that the wife has that it happens so so its something with the phone. what did you change or update a couple weeks ago to cause this.

I can't retrieve email because I forgot password as I had password saved
