RCS would have been good but not all people use it, even the pure Android phone carriers (other phones using Google Messages as default messaging app).

I love the idea of RCS, as you would get to send not only chats, images, and videos, but also any type of FILES.

If they are not using a samsung phone, you can suggest them to use google message.

Google message has built-in RCS feature that they can enable. It's a battery hog though, at least in my experience.

haven't tried checking the batt tho, but for an early take on Google Messages on RCS being a batt hogger is reasonable. Not to mention the app has to be on the background aways.

It consumes 30% - 50% of my batt on my note10+ before. But when I used the stock messaging, the battery consumption is negligible even with RCS enabled.
