External SD Card not detected :(

Help! My SD card external storage suddenly not detected. Of course I tried to restart, remove it and insert then restart again but nothing works. Nothing peculiar happened, I was leaving my phone while watching TV and when I want to check my file it's just not there. I'm using Note 8 on Android 9 with 128 GB SanDisk micro external storage. 

Any suggestions?

Please try to connect your SD card to the PC or another phone and check. If it is working with another phone or PC and get back to us with the result.

I connect my SD card with my computer directly and it reads the data normally. I immediately back up all of my photos on to my laptop before I lost them. I also checked with Disk Utility, there's no error or damage found on the SD Card. 

I put it back into my phone, it still won't detect the SD card.

Quick question, can I use 512GB or 256GB Micro SDXC Card for Note 8?

The Galaxy Note 8 can support external memory expansion up to 256GB.

Have you tried to reformat SD card (has to be in exFAT)? Try a different card to see if it the Note 8 recognizes it? If it still can't see a different card, it is possible that the reader is not working and may need to be serviced. Though not sure what the costs wild be to repair it.

As for SDXC, the 256 and 512 should work with no issues as long as it is formated in exFAT.

It's already in exFAT and I've been using it since 3 years now. I tried different card into my phone and it recognized it. I guess mine was busted 😕

Already purchased 256GB as the max Note 8 compatible with.

You might as well reformat it and start from scratch!

you said another card worked so that's means there is nothing wrong with your phone, just that card, I've had this happen a few times 🤦
