The inscreen finger print readers are a compete waste of time and space. Can never get it to work on my Note 20 ultra or my wife's s10.. Frustrating to say the least. Press a little harder it keeps saying. Should I press so hard I break the screen?

Hi @Yusuf, thanks for reaching out. I have a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. If you are using a 3rd party screen protector, it may be affecting how well the screen can read the fingerprint.

2. Ensure you have clean, dry fingers, as moisture and dirt can also affect the scan of your fingerprint and result in rejections.

3. Remove and re-add your fingerprint.

4. Send us an error report via the Samsung Members app so that we can look into any underlying problems that may be occurring.

Samsung Members > Get Help > Error Report > Select Category > Describe issue > Tick 'send log data' > send

maybe turning on screen sensitivity may help? i think also try resetting your biometrics, so delete and then add back on your fingerprints. good luck

^definitely try that!
The weather also plays around with the scanner you may notice. But! What worked for me is registering the same fingerprint twice. Try that and see how you go 😊

I'm using the screen protector that came with the phone. Only 2 months old and no luck.

I've tried all the above suggestions. The 2 finger print method gave the best result but it's still not useful. Kris saying press harder until I'm literally going to smash the screen. Best option I've found is to remove my finger prints and disable that option. Just wait until another model where Samsung can get it right

Don't break the screen just remove the factor screen protector because it is of no use after a month, I removed it in a month because of this fingerprint issue! After that, I put on a film protector from Gadgetshieldz to prevent my screen from scratches and after using it for more than 8 months I had no fingerprint issue the sensor is working fine and reading the fingerprint quickly! Check it out,
