Hi Guys,

I was staying in Malaysia and the local official set are the Exynos990 SOC.

Hence the warranty part will be an issue if the phone having problems.

As we know, there are some performance gaps between Exynos and SD.

Do you all think is it worth a risk to take the risk for the warranty side to have a better performance go for Malaysia import set (SD865+)?

As currently I was using S9+ and was thinking to change to Note Series for my works.

The S9+ so far I not happy about is the

1) burn screen,

2) heat issue (highest I recorded 42℃ with room temperature)

3) poor battery performance (usage as below)
text messaging -25%,
emailing - 15%,
surfing Facebook - 15%,
YouTube - 10%,
games - 10%,
music - 5%,
camera - 5%,
Browser - 5%
Others - 10%

Settings with
4G+ with on with Bluetooth / NFC / GPS

These my battery only barely last only 7-8 hours.

4) Fingerprint sensor coating peel off.

The rest are still good.

Thanks for giving me some thoughts.

depend on urself.. if u can survive without warranty then go ahead but getting the SD865+ is worth it for the software but not the hardware..

u raise another concern is software update…

just might be worried that too……
as for the warranty, my current phone is my 1st local set by at retail store…

then most of my phone previously was buy online……
but of cause one of the concern Al's due to the price tag are high… and might be a headache is spoiled

no doubt
it still perform well in daily task.

just that the battery couldn't last a day for my usage.

I as consider myself a heavy user..

just don't get me wrong as I am not saying the exynos are not good.

just for the same price that I paying, there are 2 variant that have performance gap.

of cause by then I could choose the one performed better right?

as most of the review and test for both SOC in the YouTube.

it was quite a review agree that there are at least a 20% different in performance.

unless the exynos version priced lower than the SD.

otherwise I think I am prefer to have a better performed SOC.

and btw,

I am working in construction field,

hence my so call "room" temperature you guys can imagine.

as well as the heat that exynos anticipate during usage I already experienced with my S9+.

Hi, actually only this generation of Exynos SoC (990) is performing worst than Snapdragon SoC (865+). All other generation of Exynos SoC is like a beast.

Yes, there is some part of difference on betweeen this variance which the most obviously is the performance & hardware storage itself.

I'm way prefer on exynos since its provide dual sim & bigger storages. SD variance given smaller storage and single sim but have external storage up to 1T which is not that important much since Dex features came up. Wait now it can be used wireless, it would make mylife easier that no others phone had.

Back to basis, choose our phone based on what we need & suits for our daily environment. In some ways, people just high up regarding this chip performance issue but regardless nothing much on using it in 100% for what the features provided on their phone.

Complained about the flagship Galaxy nor Iphone, but in daily routine suits better on mid range nor the one+ flagship which only had the best screen performance but in total lack of features.
