News and tab problem

Since the ui3 update I notice at home screen I can no longer access the news by swipping left to right. Any idea?

Also I have a faided white tab on left side and it does nothing. I use my s-pen and my finger to swipe it, but does nothing. Anyway to remove it?

I found how to get my news back. I had to go to widget and found button was off. maybe happen from install of 3ui. So now only problem is that faided tab issue.
