Just submitted error log to Samsung after texting with their tech support. Last update on May 31st has really borked my phone.

Battery gets really hot and drains fast. I'm down 15-20% in 30m with no apps running. It seems hot all the time 🙄

Wish I didn't update.

If it'd be my device, I'd backup with Smart Switch & Factory Reset.

Did tech support give you any reply to the log?

Not yet, no. I sent the log about 2m before I started this thread.

Might try Smart Switch this weekend. It's the only thing they've not asked me to do.

Smart Switch is surprisingly good & easy to use, especially if you have an external sd card!

I backup my phone once a week with it, because... you never know what can happen!

I also backup my device with Google, it's a "belt & suspenders" approach to data preservation.

Restoring your backup from Smart Switch is also quite easy & faster than you might think.

I've just grabbed the app and it looks like it's simple enough to use.

I've got a 200GB mSD card in my Note. Wonder how long it'll back all that up.

Does it chuck everything back in the way it was when you transfer everything back?

It takes about 20 minutes to backup ~16 Gig on my S20 Ultra. Depending on what you select from Smart Switch's backup choices, and the speed of your device & micro sd card.

When you restore, it pretty much puts everything back the way it was... pretty much.
