I'm using all payments with my Samsung pay. I love it. I hear people say it's compatible with the magnetic stripe (swipe) as well and chip, is this true and how to properly position the phone to not look like a fool.
I only use on Pay pass machine so far; 99% of the time working without having to retry etc. Not working for gas pump even though it's pay pass.
My question is what terminal is it compatible with? PIN, CHIP, magnetic stripe (Swipe), signature. I see it uses EMV, MST and NFC.
Do I need to put phone at max 3" away from terminal at any angle is it has to be standing upright?
I find for me when you use MST you have to have the back of the phone facing the terminal stripe side at a 45 degree angle and it only works on credit cards.....
@Habsfan can you elaborate? what is the requirement if any? does it have to have the pay pass or contactless icon that looks like a wifi symbol but with a card and horizontal icon to work or not even? Just tap on the chip bar terminal? I tried at Jean-Coutu or WalMart once and it didn't work so I figured it's either not supported, the machine compatibility or I'm not positioning it right on my note 9...
I've tried it at a couple of places where they don't have tap and it works. the only requirement I know is that MST only works when you're using a credit card. at places like Walmart where it works for me I hold it at the side where the swipe is
