Galaxy Note
Hi,
I'm using all payments with my Samsung pay. I love it. I hear people say it's compatible with the magnetic stripe (swipe) as well and chip, is this true and how to properly position the phone to not look like a fool.
I only use on Pay pass machine so far; 99% of the time working without having to retry etc. Not working for gas pump even though it's pay pass.
My question is what terminal is it compatible with? PIN, CHIP, magnetic stripe (Swipe), signature. I see it uses EMV, MST and NFC.
Do I need to put phone at max 3" away from terminal at any angle is it has to be standing upright?

I'm assuming the tap, pay pass or nfc is limit to 100$ spending.
so for the magstripe (swipe card) you can spend higher than 100$ depending on your credit card company BUT you need to sign the receipt after correct?
for the EMV machine, chip, pin, I would assume more than 100$ limit as well? do you need to enter the pin on the phone or machine later near the chip module?

just tested working 1st try at grocery store for 180$. you need to simulate the swipe gesture and hold it on the side and slightly further away from the swipe side.
same thing if terminal is only tap and pin without swipe. you need to tap only to the tap section or further away as it's the device is split vertically in two.
on another note, Costco swipe didn't work though... I will need to try again.
thanks man
