Did you create a new Samsung account with your new Note 9?

Like Richman said, you do not need to create a new Samsung account. Just use your existing account in your Note9 should work.

Did you try using your computer to login to your Samsung account? I know that I had difficulty with my username & I figured it out by using my computer.. give it a try 🙂

Samsung Member should be linked to your Samsung account. It uses the same credentials IIRC. That's strange.

Edit: try removing the account from the phone and try account setup again.

I have my samsung account linked to both my s7 and s8. they can be used at the same time....I suggest you try a password recovery on your samsung account, and try adding it on your note after you're done setting the new password
