Hello,

Galaxy Note10 . About 10 days ago I got a message that update was available. Downloaded and installed as usual, but when phone re-started it wont recognise the sim. Sim still works in my old S5 but not in the note .

Phoned the Chermside Samsung store to see if they have experienced anything similar. Was told " no' and they would have to send away and would cost more to fix than the phone cost". USELESS !!!! It was their update that stuffed it !!!!

Spent about 3 plus hours on chat trying everything to sort, but nothing works. Cant do a factory reset because when it asks me to log in to my samsung account, it just keeps looping back asking me to log in aagain. I know password etc is correct because I can log in on my pc.

The phone shows the IME as " unknown" now, and the phone number as " unknown also" . I imagine thats because it cant see a sim inserted.

Went into Chermside store today as a last resort, only to be told they wont touch it without a receipt . I know I only got it in October ( from emails I have) but cant find the bloody receipt.

Very close to giving up and going apple, but cant see why they cant fix it if their update is responsable for the failure.

A lady at work had exactly the same thing happened 3 weeks ago when she did update as well.

Anyone have any ideas to fix, or experienced the same issues?

First, go to Support button, bottom right on Samsung Members home page and run diagnostics. Second, Google "samsung phone sim after update" and see if any solution there helps. Three look up factory reset but note you will lose all data and settings if you do this. Read up on backup but note it doesn t always work some stuff isn't recovered and you tend to lose shortcuts on desktop so screen shot so you know what's missing.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.
