Hi all, I recently changed one of my contacts name. But for some reason, the name of the same person on Whatsapp didn't change, even after refreshing multiple times. I deleted the number from my phone storage. I still see the contact on my whatsapp though with the old name. What's going on? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, please try the suggestions provided by AC007 and check if the issue still persists.

Thanks, AC007.

Do you have that person in your contact list?

Yeah I think that they do, they were trying to change the name of the contract.

BTW, I sent you a DM.

it might be because samsung store whatsapp contacts separately sometimes. follow this steps.

open contact in whatsapp(you want to change name for)

select 3 dot menu on top right corner.

select view contact.

again select 3 dot menu on top.
go to edit.
from there change name.
it should work.

This happens to me, too. It happens when I (unintentionally) sync contacts from a new Google account with my phone, and the contact in question exists in those newly synced contacts, but under a different name.

I have to:

1. Turn off contact sync for that Google account
2. Filter contacts to show only those from the new Google account.
3. Delete all those contacts.
