Hi, recently I brought Samsung flagship lineup model S24 (SM-S921B/DS) from India and currently I moved to Canada inserted a Canadian sim (Rogers) unfortunately, the 5G network is not working the phone only receives 4G network, I have reached the technical teams of both Samsung and Rogers from there  I came to know that the this version of the phone doesn't support 5G bands in this region. Sadly, I have to keep using this phone in 4G network coz its brand new and I have checked the trade in scheme (exchange) for this phone on samsung website but I will get only 400 CAD  for this phone which is really low comparing with the price that I had invested on this phone to purchase from India.  Beware, if you are purchasing flagship devices and moving to another country, you will end up in a situation like me.

Hi Albert981, we apologize to hear about this unpleasant experience.

Canada's 5G bands, depending on the cellular carrier, may be different from that of India, therefore limiting your device's 5G reception here in Canada. Vice versa, Canadian Galaxy devices may not be compatible with 5G bands in the India. This greatly depends on various conditions such as each cellular carrier's current 5G infrastructure, and may change in the future.

Thank you for writing to us.

As long as you can get an LTE network, it doesn’t make much difference. Canada’s 5G isn’t very fast or reliable, so it’s probably not worth the trouble.

But if you do want to trade in your device and get a Canadian one, you can wait until the S25 series comes out. At that time, you will receive many bonuses for trading in your device, and you will likely only need $300–$400 to get the new device.
