the wifi6 is still dependent on the router/modem

I'm not referring to the wifi generation, but to the freq band.

It should have it. Just not active. It comes with the SOC hardware

I also thought that's how it works at first that Samsung will just push an update and it will get activated. But that's not it. It really depends on the version of the phone's wifi chip.

It's not the same as computer motherboards with a separate WiFi controller. For mobile phones it's integrated into the main chip. They can instruct the 7900 to disable the 6ghz freq if needed by regulatory bodies. https://www.qualcomm.com/products/mobile/snapdragon/smartphones/snapdragon-8-series-mobile-platforms...

Yes, I know that it's not integrated, but it has a separate chip. Manufacturers usually don't disclose these tiny details on their websites.

It is integrated and part of the 7900 Sub SOC within the X80 5G modem within the SM8750 SD 8 Elite main SOC. They need to disclose this for approval for use in devices both from the phone makers and regulators. Remember it's a radio emmitter, the local NTC will regulate its use. And it is this controller that the, now, software sticker of NTC approves.

I was referring to disclosing those to their websites not to the regulating bodies. Most end users don't care about that spec. And yes, there are variations per country based on the supported frequencies.
